Looking west across the Admiralty Range in North Victoria Land, Antarctica, from a New Zealand Air Force C130 at 71 30'S 167 37'E, en route from Christchurch to McMurdo Staton. Peaks are typically 2400 m (7900 ft) rising above 2000 m (6600 ft) thick ice. The range running across the mid background is the Concord Mountains, 120 km (75 miles) away. The far mountains are 250 km (150 mi) and more distant.
