29-73-06 Beacon Rock Glacier
Remote Beacon Valley, Antarctica, about 80 miles from McMurdo, from a helicopter. This area is the most like Mars on Earth, a landscape frozen in time since, unchanged in millions of years because there have been no liquid water or earthquake events in all those years. The ice in the older rings of this rock glacier have been dated at 8 million years. 2002.
